Welcome to the website of the Postgraduate program “Governance and Public Policies”.
The aim of the program is to develop knowledge and research skills on the institutions, processes, objectives and outcomes of contemporary forms of governance and public policies with emphasis on the European area, the European Union, but also on states and economies with increased importance in European and international developments.
The curriculum includes a range of courses in the fields of Social Sciences and Humanities and is mainly based on the disciplines of Political Science and Management Science in general. In particular, cutting-edge issues are developed and high-level teaching methods and knowledge tools are used in the fields of European Studies, Public Policy Analysis, International Relations and Law.
Students acquire theoretical knowledge and, at the same time, familiarity with empirical data in order to develop knowledge and skills indispensable for the pursuit of a dynamic professional career. Indeed, the forms of decision-making and public policy formulation in modern governance systems require an interdisciplinary approach and familiarity with the regulatory framework and the distribution of responsibilities at different levels (European, national, sub-national), as well as the ability to evaluate the available economic and social resources in order to identify policy objectives and assess their results.
Successful completion of the program leads to a Postgraduate degree in “Governance and Public Policies” awarded by the department / university.
